You: Helga: When I Where What PEOPLE IN OUR TOWN Helga Schneider was born in Düsseldorf in Germany. She left school in 1969 and went to university to study music and languages. She left university in 1973 and started a new life in the USA. And she became a famous singer! In 1980 she met her husband, Andreas, at a concert. They got married three years later, and moved back to Germany, to Marbach. They opened a small music school and worked in Marbach from 1983 to 2012.
