Speaking with Purpose and Confidence: Building Oracy Skills with Keynote

Developing confident speakers is a key goal for any language classroom, especially in this day and age where effective communication skills are so important. But what exactly defines an effective and confident speaker? In this session we’ll start by exploring the concept of oracy, defining what it is and its role in ensuring effective communication.

Then, using examples from National Geographic Learning’s Keynote Second Edition, we’ll show how integrating authentic input with communicative outcomes creates an environment where learners can practise speaking in ways that are engaging, supported, and transferable beyond the classroom.
